KINDS OF COMPANY
As per Sec 2(20) of companies Act 2013, A "company" means a company incorporated under this Act or under any previous company Law.
Or in simple words, A company is a corporate body and a legal person having status and a personality distinct and separate from the members constituting it.
- Classification of company on the basis of its incorporations
- Chartered Company :- It means a company come into existence by the chartered King/Queen of England. These types of companies is no longer in existence. Eg :- East India Company.
- Statutory Company :- It means a company incorporated by the special Act of State legislature/parliament. these company are also known by the name "Corporations". these companies are generally created for Public Utility Services. Eg :- Reserve Bank of India is setup under Reserve Bank of India Act 1934, Stare Bank of India Who is Incorporated Under State Bank Of India Act 1955, LIC, FCI etc.
- Registered Company :- It means a company registered under company Act 2013 Or any previous company Law.
