What Is Icmai  ?

Icmai is an institution called "The Indian Institution Of  Cost And Management Accountant Of India" or "The Institution of Cost & Work Accountant Of India".
It is an professional accountancy body in india. It is under the control of Ministry of corporate affairs, government of India.

The ICMAI is formed in India 62 year ago in 28 May 1959. The ICMAI headquarter is situated in Kolkata, India.

It is an autonomous professional institution with the objective of promoting, regulating and developing the profession of cost and management accountancy. 
 

What Is ICMAI Exam ?

ICMAI ( The institute of cost and management accountant of India) is conducted exam every year in two times June and December for courses of different level foundation, intermediate and final level. This is known as ICMAI exam. Thousands of students appear for this exam every year.  


What is the difference Between ICMAI and CMA 

The ICMAI ( The Institution Of Cost And Management Accountant Of India) and CMA ( Cost And Management Accountant) are the same thing. These two words are same. There is no any difference between ICMAI And CMA.
CMA is earlier know as ICWAI (The Institute of Cost & Works Accountants of India) which is replaced by ICMAI in Past Few year. 


Eligibility Of ICMAI Admission

The eligibility of ICMAI Admission are as follow :-

ICMAI Foundation Level Admission

  • A candidate should passed class 10 or equivalent from recorgnized board or institution.
  • and, Passed senoiur secondary Examination under 10+2 scheme of a recorgnized or institution.
  • or has passed national diploma in commerce examination held by the All India council for Technical.
( A students of waiting for the result can apply for provisional admission)


ICMAI Intermediate Level Admission

  • Passed Senior Secondary School Examination 10+2, and foundation course of the institute of cost accountants of India/ Graduation in any stream (other than fine arts discipline)/ Foundation (entry Level) Part 1 Examination of CAT of the institute/ Foundation (entry Level) Part 1 examination and competency level part II  Examination of CAT of the institute.
  • Passed foundation of ICSI/ Intermediate Of ICAI by what ever name called along with 10+2
  • And list of other qualifying examination Which are Given vides Annexure VI of the institute Prospectus.

Registration Process

A candidate has two option to apply for this course 
  • Through offline registration  or,
  • online registration


Process of offline registration

A candidate has to visit nearest chapter of ICMAI and fill the registration form and summitted the necessary documents along with the fees.


Process of online registration 

A candidate has to visit official website of the ICMAI i,e www.icmai.com
and go to the students section and click to the admission tab and then select online admission. 
and then select the course in which you want to apply, (wether foundation course, intermediate course or the final course.) and fill necessary detail ask in the form and summit the fees.

You are required to uploads following documents at the time of online registration 

Foundation Course

  • Passport size photo ( jpg/jpeg | upto 200KB)
  • Specimen Signature (jpg/jpeg  | upto 100KB)
  • Age proof (pdf  | 300 KB)
  • 10th pass marksheet (pdf  | 300KB)
  • 12th pass marksheet (pdf  | 300KB)

Intermediate Course

  • Passport size photo ( jpg/jpeg | upto 200KB)
  • Specimen Signature (jpg/jpeg  | upto 100KB)
  • Age proof (pdf  | 300 KB)
  • 10th pass marksheet (pdf  | 300KB)
  • 12th pass marksheet (pdf  | 300KB)
  • Graduation marksheet (pdf  | 300KB)

Final Course 

  • Passport size photo ( jpg/jpeg | upto 200KB)
  • Specimen Signature (jpg/jpeg  | upto 100KB)
  • Age proof (pdf  | 300 KB)
  • 10th pass marksheet (pdf  | 300KB)
  • CMA Inter Marksheet of both group (Group 1 or Group 2)(pdf | 300KB)


The registration is open for all the courses ( foundation, intermediate or final) through out the year.
 you can choose when to appear for exam if you wish to appear in june attempt then you have to complete the registration and summit the fees before 31st january. and

If you wish to appear in December attempt then you have to complete the registration process and summit the fees before 31 july. 

Is Training compulsory For CMA?

yes, the training is compulsory for every student who registered for intermediate course before appear to the exam.

The duration of the practical training is 15 months which eery student has to complete. The objective of this practical training is 
  • developing necessary skill sets
  • provide practical exposer among the students
  • Developing discipline attitute required to grow
  • Providing On-job experience of practical aspect

There are two types of the training which a student has to pass/clear before complete the final level course

  • Practical training

Skill test consist the following  for Intermediate Students 
  • SAP  Finance Power User Training
  • Microsoft Training
  • Cambridge University Press Soft Skill Training
  • E-Filling Training

Practical Training


Practical Training for the Final Student
  • Industry Oriented Training  Program



( *There  are some exemption available related to the training for the students)



Fees Structure 

fees structure for the foundation course 

Rs. 6000 for the foundation course fees payable before the due date

Fees structure for the intermediate course

Rs. 23100 for the intermediate course fees payable before the due date 

There are two option available :-
  • one time payament   , or 
  • two Installement 
( Installment Rs. 13,100 at the Registration and Rs. 10,000 before the last date of admission of the attempt)


Fees Structure For The Final course

Rs. 25000 for the final course fees payable before the due date

There are two option available :-
  • on time payment   ,or
  • two installement
( Installment Rs. 15,000 at the time of registration and Rs. 10,000 before the last date of admission of the attempt)
 

How to become CMA

A candidate has to complete the all three level of course (foundation, intermediate and final level) along with the both training( skill training and practical training).
